We have vacancies for volunteers to work in our shop and museum, assisting in the general day to management of the store. 

Ideally the task would suit people who are eager to learn and looking for work experience to bolster their CV, or perhaps someone with a little free time on their hands and looking to get involved in something a little different. 

No minimum requirement asked, though we do ask for a bit of routine around working pattern where possible.

Title:                       Administration Assistant

Location:                 Welsh Spitfire Museum

Responsible to:       Managing Director/Principal Trustee

Overall Purpose To provide support and assistance to members of the public,  Aviation heritage Foundation (AHF) volunteers, and other organisations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities  Answering the phone and addressing the needs of the public.  Dealing with enquiries that come in via e-mail and mail.  Assisting the head office team with any administration duties seen as appropriate.  Writing letters to thank supporters for their donations using our database. Maintaining the supporters database.Monitoring website purchases.

What skills and attributes are required Excellent telephone manner and people skills.  Computer literate and comfortable with the main Microsoft Office tools, database, and e-mails.  Outgoing, friendly and proactive character  working as a group member and/or alone.  Good communication skills.  To use one’s own initiative but ready to ask for help when needed.

Volunteering Hours  The position requires someone to be in the office every day of the week but there is the opportunity for this to be a shared position; working a few mornings and afternoons a week. Timing is flexible but ideally, we need the volunteer(s) to be in the office from 10am to 4pm. Comprehensive training will be provided. For more information please contact Ray Burgess on:

We are looking for a logical thinker to help with the cataloguing of our growing library, with over 15,000 books, dvds and magazines and other items relating to (in the main) 20C military and aviation history. 

Ideally the task would suit someone with library experience, though you will form one half of a partnership with an existing volunteer and there is an opportunity for training to be given. For more information, please contact Ray Burgess on:
